Just 7 players contested the first Heads-Up event since Season 23 & so a round-robin was played with the top 4 contesting the Semi-Finals. By the time the dust had settled, Steve Healey had won the group with a 4-2 record & Brian Yates was bottom with a 2-4 record so the other 5 players would, if possible, be separated by the results between themselves as a tie-breaker. This left Andre Crossfield in a clear 2nd as he had a 3-1 record while Matt Judge was a clear 6th as he had a 1-3 record. The other three were all 2-2, but ADAM SMITH had beaten both Eddie Judge& Nic Cross, giving him 3rd spot. This meant that then finished 4th as had beaten NIC EDDIE…..complex, but correct! The Semi-Finals saw top seed STEVE oust 4-time Champion Nic, repeating his group victory while ANDRE also repeated his group win over ADAM to put the top 2 in the group into the final. In a tournament that had seen the 800/1600 level reached in some games with 10k total in play, the Final lasted just 11 minutes as STEVE stopped ANDRE from adding this Title to his Super Summer Sizzler crown to take the Heads-Up for the first time & also secure his seat in this year’s Champion Of Champions event.
