BCPC Season 17, Game 2 – Friday 2 December 2016
We introduced another new player in game 2 – Hitendra Patel (welcome!) – which takes us to 29 players this season, one below our maximum capacity of 30. Yay!

Tonight’s game
As always in game 2 it was an opportunity for the game 1 heroes to put more ground between them and the chasing pack, or for it to become very evens-Stevens. Which would it be???
Tod started with the best seat in the house, sat between Kev O’Driscoll and Matt Godwin, both determined to take each other out. 🙂 That gave Tod the opportunity to slow-play kings and take the scalp of Matt.
He was brought back down to earth though by another of the Matts – Matt Cromwell – losing out with tens against queens.
Gaz lost most of his stack to Jake, calling Jack’s shove and reading him as not super-strong, possibly with a low-medium pocket pair, and so calling with QK. A great call as Jack showed K9, but Jack obvs hit the 9. He exited soon after missing his flush draw againstg Nic’s flopped top pair.
Kev soon followed losing out to Amy – Kev held 89 on a 449 board and was happt to get his chips in. Unfortunately Amy held aces and they held.
Matt Wilson took out Mooch in a ooh-aaah! hand: APIF with QQ v Mooch’s 99 – 9 on the turn but that gave Matt a FD, which came in on the river!
Tony ‘Stop Saying People are Back on Form’ Trippier was back on lucky form this week, getting all-in against Matt Price with AJ v Matt’s AQ. Board came T7896 to give TT the straight. TT had Matt slightly covered and so Matt was out.
Another Matt – McKinlay this time – also exited unluckily. His all-in with AQ called by Liam with K4 (in BB?) – Liam hit a full house, obvs lol.
The Usual Rubbish
It was around this time that I asked someone how their evening was going. Their answer – “the usual rubbish” – made me laugh a lot so I wrote it in my book. I can’t remember who it was though.
Liam continuted to prosper, short-stacked again and flat calling Amy’s raise for half his stack (or some other large fraction) with 77. Amy hit top pair but the 7 on the turn guaranteed that Liam would get a double-up.
Mark England exited with jacks no good agains new-boy H’s kings.
77 was becoming the hand of the night, cracking Si’s AA (Matt Crowell the executioner).
I believe Charles went out heriocally playing J6o, but no match against Chris’s 75. 🙂
Tod and Tony G had hung on for a while but both exited in the same hand against Liam – Tod holding 44 and Tony JK, both losing out to AQ.
Jack went out, ironically, and unluckily, to quad jacks. Jack held AK and Amy JK. The board ran out JJJ47 meaning also that Amy won the hi-hand.
At the dinner break, Amy also won the BAPWAC (or BAGWAP, as Matt Wilson insists on calling it 🙂 ).
Final table
Less sure of the action now as I was embrioled in cash game shenanigans.
Bri exited in another ooh-aah! hand. Tom raised to 2100 and Bri shoves f with AK or 11k. Everyone else folds and Tom calls with AT. Board came QAT (Tom with 2 pair)…J (Bri hits straight)…T (Tom fills up). Ul Bri.
Noit sure of the detais but Tony T then won two 3-way all-ins.
Following Bri’s exit in 9th (Liam was 10th), we saw the departures of Matt Wilson, Matt Cromwell, Tom, H, and Adam S.
That left Tony T, Nic R and Amy. Amy had the clear chip lead, Tony T 2nd and Nic on fumes. However, Tony saw an opportunity to take the chip lead hittintg second pair but all-in was behind Amy’s top pair, which held on.
Nic didn’t last much longer and so Amy was victorious (her first league win)! Not only that – but she did what we’re now calling the BCPC treble, winning the BAGPUSS, the High-Hand, and the league game, all on the same night. Nice!

Cash game
MESACOES got a lot of airtime – though it was slowly corrupted into MEXICO. Stomaha Prime continues to cause confusion. And Jack continues to be a cash machine for Brian. 🙂

My bro and sis stopped watching Westworld as they thought it was boring. I have to say, I loved it. And I thought the series finale was amazing.
The Affair is back on again, and that’s very good.
TWD mid-season finale this Monday though. I am VERY excited.
