A glorious summer day in Malvern saw the BCPC lay down the
Champions League gauntlet to the MPC for the first time, but it
would be the Malvern Boys who would smash this tournament.
By the time we were down to 20 players, only the BCPC “B” still
had 5 players left & by the time we reached the points at 18,
CHARLES MASON was out to drop that number to 4.
MPC “C” were dominating the event and only lost their first player
in 16th. Their 2nd went soon after as RICKY BUCKLAND’S plan to
chip-up lee mason backfired in spectacular fashion as LEE
folded & was out soon after in 15th.
When ADAM PHELAN bubbled the Final Table, only a win by MARK
ENGLAND could halt the MPC charge & when he bust in 8th, that
meant that MPC ”C” were already Champions.
JACK WARBURTON was the last BCPC player to exit in 6th on what
was a day to forget for our Club.
